At Curby’s NT, we offer two types of engraving – laser and router engraving. Both laser and router engraving are methods for creating designs on a surface, but they achieve this in fundamentally different ways:
Laser Engraving:
Router Engraving (Diamond Drag):
Laser engraving offers a lot of flexibility when it comes to what materials and items you can engrave. Here is a breakdown of some popular options we engrave at Curby’s NT:
Metals: Stainless steel, anodised aluminium, brass, other coated metals (with limitations).
Wood: Plywood, hardwood, softwoods, bamboo.
Plastics: Acrylic, acrylic awards, engraving laminates.
Glass: Glass awards, drinkware, and alcohol bottles (with limitations).
Leather: Wallets, belts, keyrings.
Awards and trophies.
Signs and plaques.
Drinkware: Tankards, glasses, flasks, YETI and similar drinkware.
Tools and knives: Flashlights, multi-tools, pocket knives, gun parts.
Office supplies: Pens, keychains, laser engravable items like notebooks.
Pet Accessories: Collars and tags, feeding bowls.
Home goods: Cutting boards, picture frames, coasters.
Beyond these examples, many other items can be laser engraved. This can depend on the size, shape, and material of the object. It’s always best to check with our experienced team and engraver about specialised items.
Curby's NT cannot guarantee the quality of the engraved finish on items not purchased from our store. This is because we may not be familiar with the material properties or how it will react during the engraving process. We recommend using items purchased from Curby's NT to ensure the best possible engraving results.
At Curby's NT, we can help you personalise your YETI Rambler or Boomer with almost anything you can imagine!
Here are some ideas:
Text: Names, initials, nicknames, monograms, special dates, inspirational quotes - the possibilities are endless!
Images/Logos: Logos, simple designs, patterns, silhouettes, outlines - add a personal touch with an image.
The more information you provide, the better we can personalise your engraved items!
Wording: We prefer wording submissions in a digital format like email, Word document or Excel spreadsheet. This minimises typos.
Logos: For engraving logos, we require them in a vector file format (e.g. AI, EPS, PDF) for best results. Don’t have a vector file? No problem! We can convert your logo. This will incur an artwork fee. The clearer the image you provide, the clearer your logo will convert.
Artwork: If you’re comfortable using graphic design software like Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw, you can send a flatten PDF of your artwork. Our team will double-check it to ensure it is perfect for engraving.
Yes, there may be artwork or setup fees associated with your personalised engraving. The cost depends on the complexity of your order, which can include but not limited to: Complex Design Requests: If your desired engraving involves intricate details or a complex design, it might require additional preparation for engraving, leading to a setup fee. Incompatible File Format: If you provide your artwork in a format not compatible with our engraving machine, we might need to convert it, incurring a setup fee. Creating New Artwork: If you don’t have your own design and require us to create a logo or design from scratch, this will involve a setup fee.
Unsure if your order will incur an artwork or setup fee? Please contact us and our team will be able to provide clarification.
We want to ensure you’re completely happy with your engraved items! Our team will create a digital proof of your order based on the information you provide, including text and artwork. We will email you this proof for your review and approval.
You will have two free rounds of revisions to ensure everything looks perfect. If you require additional revisions after the last proof, an artwork fee may apply.
Once approval is received, we will proceed with your order and begin engraving. If a mistake is flagged after we receive your approval, additional charges may incur.
The cost of engraving depends on several factors, such as the sizes and complexity of the design, the material being engraved, and the engraving method used. For a formal quote, please contact our team with your design details and desired material.
Engraving turnaround times can vary depending on the workload and complexity of the design. We can usually turn the order around with 5 to 7 business days. If you require the order sooner, speak to one of our friendly team who will try to accommodate if possible.
Unfortunately, we don’t offer embossing services currently. However, we do specialise in laser engraving, which can create a permanent effect on a variety of materials.
